About me

My name is Libuše Slámová, and I am the creator of MusicLab Kids – a playful music laboratory for children.

Music has been part of my life since childhood. The violin became not only my instrument, but also my companion through hundreds of performances both in the Czech Republic and abroad. For many years, I performed in traditional dulcimer ensembles, collaborated with pop bands, and later became a member of the violin trio Avvaken, with whom we performed at public and corporate events.

I studied at a conservatory and later completed studies in music management, but what has always fulfilled me the most is sharing music with others. As a former kindergarten teacher and a mother of two children, I know how naturally children respond to rhythm, sounds, and melodies. Music is a language they understand long before they can read, write, or count.

That is why I wanted to create a program that shows children that music is not just something they hear on the radio, but a world full of experiments, discovery, and joy. Using the violin, microphone, looper, and percussion instruments, we create "musical experiments" right in front of the children and they actively become part of them.

Every performance is a little different, depending on the young explorers I meet that day. And every time, there is a moment that is difficult to describe in words: the sparkle in children's eyes when they hear themselves "playing in a band" for the very first time.

And that is exactly why I created MusicLab Kids.
